The lazy sun has finally dragged itself out of bed: a full hour after we did the same. Though it was cold and dark when we woke up at seven this morning, messages from home warmed me more than the terrible, pre-sweetened ground coffee here ever could.
Bri has already left to conquer the city. I prefer to snuggle next to the heater a bit longer, as I won't be using the blow dryer. I wouldn't want to frighten the locals, and if I blow dry my curly hair, I'll be much scarier than the Bride of Frankenstein.
Soon, I'll head out to the subte (subway), and become a student for the first time in more than seven years.
Thanks to everyone who has sent well-wishes so far. Though we're in a brand-new, exciting place, it's nice to know we're not here alone!

I think it's awesome that you both jumped headfirst into a culture without fully knowing the language - without hesitating to do something awesome.
Also, ohh food talk makes me sad. I'm back on the ninja diet and you're describing such amazing sounding food.
Best of Luck Ms Student !
