Two days down, 18 to go

Bri here (are you happy Lisa?)

Today I spent six hours learning Spanish one-on-one with two different tutors. And I've still got about two hours of homework to do. My days were so much easier when I was "working" at NETg. I haven't been in school for six years and this is trial by fire, definitely not like college. I can't get away with anything. I spent three quarters of German sketching costume designs for my real major. There is no one to deflect questions to now. It's me or nothing. Argh. But it'll get easier.

In other news, I'm in love with empanadas. Little pockets o' meat. They are available everywhere and cost about 50-60 cents each. I checked before I came and they fit the diet. So I loaded up on carne empanadas from the little deli down the street. I devoured two of them before I discovered giant chunks of hardboiled eggs mixed in with the meat. WHAT?? Are you serious? Carne empanadas include EGGS? Luckily it appears that particular recipe is unique. And I didn't eat enough to get really sick, so oh well. Now I know to check. Or to just eat jamon y queso o cebolla y queso. They certainly can't include eggs in those. Or can they???

We'd send peanut butter (no eggs or meat)to go with the rape jelly, but it'd probably arrive to late.

On Thursday my Spanish school is teaching us how to make empanads. I will have recipes then.
